EEG (electroencephalography)

Technology

La misura dell’attività elettrica del cervello. È l’indicatore più diretto del livello di vigilanza e la base della tecnologia Oraigo.

DDAWTechnology

Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning. The driver inattention and drowsiness warning system. It recognises the drop in attention and alerts the driver.

Physiology
MicrosleepPhysiology

An episode of involuntary sleep lasting a few seconds. While driving it is particularly dangerous because it happens without the person noticing.

Driver fatiguePhysiology

The decline in performance and attention due to tiredness, insufficient sleep or prolonged driving. One of the most underestimated causes of road accidents.

AlertnessPhysiology

The driver’s state of readiness and attention. When alertness drops, the risk of microsleep rises.

Circadian rhythmPhysiology

The internal biological clock that regulates sleep and wakefulness over 24 hours. It pushes toward sleep especially at night and in the early morning hours.

Regulation
GSR IIRegulation

General Safety Regulation II — The European regulation (EU) 2019/2144 that made DDAW mandatory on new heavy commercial vehicles from 2026.

Management
FRMSManagement

Fatigue Risk Management System. A system for managing fatigue risk: the set of processes and tools an organisation uses to keep drivers’ tiredness under control.

ClaimManagement

In insurance and fleet language, a road accident. Reducing fatigue-related claims affects both safety and insurance costs.

Loan for useManagement

The arrangement by which an asset is granted for free use for a period. It is often used for pilot programmes like Oraigo’s.
